Maverick X3 Weld In Rear Radius Rod Reinforcement Plate - Ct Race Worx
This is the CT rear radius rod reinforcement plate for the X3 that is made completely from 4130 chromoly. The intent of this piece is to either repair a damaged frame or to use on a fresh built for increased strength. There is a plate that goes under the transmission and there is also an additional plate that welds in the inside of the chassis under the transmission to tie everything together. Due to variations, stresses and multiple factors we heavily suggest using a very rigid radius rod plate like the CT Race Worx billet radius rod plate as a fixture to weld all of this in. The factory frame is thin enough to allow the "faces" of the factory plate to move and pull into place but these chromoly plates will make everything so rigid it will not move or conform after fully installed, so take your time and do this right. We use a billet pull plate and spacers to set the pull plate away from the chassis and then weld everything into place, and allow it to fully cool. This set of plates is also lasered with holes for our radius rod race plates which we suggest purchasing to make the rear of the chassis bomb proof.
This does require a large amount of cutting and welding for this to work. We recommend tig welding as much of this in a possible, if you're repairing a frame its likely that mig welding is the better option, if you're working on a fresh build and a bare frame we suggest tig welding. If repairing a frame, wire wheel as much paint off as possible and use a grinder as a last resort, the factory frame is already thin enough.
